Holly and Jon's wedding is the exact reason why we love what we do.
Sean and I parted the reception just as the sun was setting on the evening of June 27th. With thousands of sweet memories resting snug in trusty compact flash cards, we drove off overjoyed from a smooth day full of golden tears and laughter.
As a photographer, I always try to capture the authentic character of each person in front of my lens and expose the unique story that is only theirs. To do this accurately, in my opinion, a legitimate friendship between us must be formed. Sounds easy enough right? Well one might think so, however depending on the circumstances of the shoot and the willingness from my clients, it doesn't always happen immediately. I usually like to break the ice by revealing my inner dork to bridge the gap from strangers to almost bff's. When I met Holly and Jon for the first time, we just clicked. Being ourselves was completely natural and the bond we built wasn't forced.
I couldn't wait to be in attendance during their nuptials. Not only are they the sweetest and sassiest couple around, the entire wedding was held amongst weeping willows, still ponds and the 85 acres of forest Holly's parents call home. I'm telling you its STUUUUH-NNING! A perfect fit for the couple who are the laid- back- country- folk type. The wedding party was a fun group and kept us all laughing as we fought harsh sunlight and swatted "small" bird-sized mosquitos. I want to give a shout out to them all and our little buddy Thomas, the bride and groom's 4 year old son.
We received the following email from Holly a few days ago and I think it sums up this post nicely:
"I'm sooooo excited, I know these photos will be amazing. I cant wait for people to go on the blog and see them. I've been telling everyone how amazing you and Sean are and I know a couple of girlfriends getting married who will be giving you a call. I hope you know how much we loved working with you and I consider you my friend now. I love you and the amazing work you two do together. I hope we can keep in touch and I told Jon that at Christmas I'm going to get you to come and do our photos, you're way better than Walmart!"
To Holly and Jon, we love you both right back and look forward to many more adventures with you in the future. Enjoy the story.
Sean was able to capture this angle of the ceremony and I'm in love with it.
I couldn't resist posting these adorable photos all "yearbook styles". How cute are these girls...
