SAM AND JENNA.

A quant and intimate backyard wedding with only 25 of the couple's closest friends and family proved to be the most heartfelt and honest union.

Jenna-Lou, as she is affectionately known, planned and hand crafted the fine details of her humble fairy-tale. When I entered her home a few hours prior to "show time", I noticed a-m-a-z-i-n-g oil paintings of horses on canvas. I asked her if the artist was local and she turns to me and says, "oh, I did those." No big deal. They're just incredible.

Later when we were capturing family photos around the property, I made mention of the meticulous gardens as they reminded me of my mothers. Again, she says, " ya, I like to garden a little." Come on woman! You're makin' me look bad.

Meeting people like Jenna and Sam reminded me why I love documenting weddings so much. They each are genuine, laid back and kind. It felt like we were family as we laughed and chatted away all afternoon.

I love this job. Seriously. I am allowed in on the most touching moments of people's history, and I always walk away with new friends.

I'll end this post with a quote from Sam's father's toast: " I hope you never wish for new cars and winning millions in the lottery. Pray for the ability to overcome what obstacles life will inevitably send your way, and pray that you are strong enough to cope, together."

Here's to Jenna-Lou and Sam.

I wish I could remember what was so gut-busting funny. I'm assuming it is in response to one of the two characters on either end.

With no surprise after discovering all of the talents Jenna possesses, her fabulous mother is behind the creation of this masterpiece.
