  1. OMG I totally have someone for you!
A friend at work is a single mom with 3 kids under the age of 7 and she puts everything she has into them. I can't remember the last time she's done something for herself. Thanks guys!

  2. Amanda and Sean I definitely have someone for you. My best friend Anne recently lost her mother to cancer at the age of 56. Obviously this has been a really difficult time for her and her family. Anne's mom is my godmother and Anne is the godmother of my daughter. I think a photo shoot for her would brighten her spirits knowing that we care and love her.

    thanks,
    Diana

  3. Hey Amanda and Sean,

I haven't had updated photos taken of my kids in years and I refuse to give into the Walmartization. Please and thank you.

  4. I was going to throw our hat in the ring for us and our 6 year old twins but these posters deserve it more.

Props to both of you for doing this - may karma shine on you!

    Cheers, mark

  5. I think it's wonderful that you two offer this opportunity! Thank you.
I would like to put forward the name of someone we know. Kathy & Aaron have had a most difficult year and a family portrait seems all the more important now that there is just the two of them. It would certainly be a luxury item for Kathy at this point and therefor not likely to occur without the generosity of you both.
I'm sure this is going to be a tough call to make!
    Love & light, Kim

  6. Hi guys!My most wonderful partner for life has spent the last 4.5 years dedicating herself to conceiving and raising two wonderful children and at times has felt she has completely lost herself (appearance, socially, spiritually). She has sacrificed her career, social life, body and emotions for the most single important thing in her life....us, her family. We love her and appreciate her greatly. She is now starting to love herself and her body again. She deserves some pampering and to be told and shown how beautiful she is inside and out. I've seen your work and I am impressed and would be honored to receive such a gift you are offering. Hope all is well and congratulations to ever wins this gift. All the entries sound deserving.

  8. Well, considering I have decided to conqour this world "alone"... as now, a single mom. A lot has changed. My children are 5 and 2 now and need their photos updated despirately. Knowing that you do an amazing job and with Christmas just around the corner I need new family shots of me and my children. For everything now, I must fight for...this is my fight. Help my kids and I have a happy ending to 2009. Jen Kirby-Vanderzwet

  9. Wow - there are a lot of individuals out there who probably deserve a photo shoot more than us but I'm going to go ahead...Family photos are something that everyone takes for granted. You snap a picture here and there to record moments in time. Birthday parties, Christmas with family and friends, summer holidays. What you never get though are the everyday pictures. Brother and sister reading a book, boy with dog, daughter with mother, son with father - not posing - just living. Looking through the photos posted by Lotus Photography those seem to be the type of photo that you are best taking. All the photos look natural, almost as if the photographer was not there at all. These are the types of photos that I would like of my family. A photo session, staged or otherwise, is something that we have not been able to plan for. Jonathan, my son, has dealt with health issues from the beginning and it has only been in the last couple of years that we have started to make any definite plans such as extended vacations or lessons of any kind as we never new when he would be healthy and when he would be ill. Now that he is doing amazingly well and he and his sister are growing by leaps and bounds, I would love to be able to capture them as they are now and I wouldn't trust that to anyone other than you. Thank you! Karen

  10. Here it goes....
Man marries woman. They have 2 babies. Man loses job and goes back to school. Man gets job, in Huntsville... woman is left with babies and full-time job while freelancing after the kids go to bed. Everyone gets the flu 3 times. Woman gets very sick - not from the flu. Marriage has trouble... Man quits job in Huntsville, gets job in Oshawa. Man and woman are working hard to make it work for the family. Man, woman, boy and girl have never had a family portrait.
That's my story, minus a bunch of crazy details. Thanks!

  11. As I sit and read the above comments of others, my heart opens with the thought of how much the winnings from this contest would boost so many spirits. Furthermore, in the ever so fast paced times we live in, it’s wonderful to see how much family still means to those around us.

Being a 24 year old, only child, daughter, of two of the best parents the world has yet to offer, I can’t stop and think about how much something like this would mean to them. Over my 24 years my family has stuck together through thick and thing, self acclaimed as “The Three Bears”, we have always manage to get through anything. Having both parents go through life altering moments such as two massive heart attacks, a battle of a lifetime with cancer, chemo and radiation and now diabetes, the health of my family has always been a concern, yet the bears have always prevailed.

In this downfall of economy, the bears have again stuck together, pooling efforts to keep all the ducks in order. Poor financial times have fallen on us before, but as a child, I would have not known the difference, my parents have always given up taking for themselves to provide for me to the highest extent, from wearing second hand clothes in order to keep their daughter in piano lessons, to working multiple jobs to send me too music camp.

I have come to realize that gifts and material objects mean nothing as apposed to the memories in which my family has given me over the years. After seeing both of my parents go through near death experiences, I have tried to maintain a photo collection for my memories for when they are gone. However, we have not had a family portrait in many years, partly due to lack of funding to do so, and not having someone with the poise and artistic flavor to capture what family means to us.

I can’t argue that there are many deserving families of such a lovely gift, or why I deserve the winnings more than any other, but if we were picked, it would be greatly appreciated. My family may be small, but the memories, feelings, and LOVE that I have for “The Three Bears” is strong enough as a family of 12.

With sappy tears in my eyes, I conclude by thanking you for offering this competition because it has verified how important family is. Best of luck to all who apply.
