There's nothing like capturing a genuine smile on a happy child. It's playful and sweet and something about it makes me feel carefree. However, anyone who is a child, was a child or raises a child knows there are a million other expressions and moods to be remembered. The pouts, the candid gazes, the sassy attitude... it all plays a part in their blossoming character. For this shoot, I made a point of not asking for any smiles. I told no dorky jokes and made no silly voices. At all. I wanted to capture Eden in her environment, just as she is.
