Very rarely in 2010, do I find someone who appreciates how on occasion I refer to Jim Carrey lines plucked from his various films. Usually, I'll slip in a "Big gulps eh? Welp, see ya later!", or a "It's ok! I'm a limo driver!" to test the waters. If no one catches on, or basically just look at me like I have six eyes, I move on and remain professional. However, if I get a giggle or better yet someone who instinctively quips back with the follow up line - the flood gates open. I immediately fall in love with people who share my sense of humor. Seriously I have no restraint.
My sister Holly and I have a strange connection on bizarre out of this world realms when it comes to quoting movie lines. For instance, she could call me at 4am, wake me up out of a deep sleep and say only... " you have no power over me"... and without missing a beat or asking any questions I would simply reply with another line from Labyrinth. No biggie. I'm so used to being weird like that, that sometimes it backfires. Take today for example, Sean and I heard the state Delaware mentioned and obviously I recalled the line Mike Myers says in Wayne's World about being in Delaware. I look at Sean for his response. Nothin'. In fact, I think he tried to pretend he didn't hear me so he didn't have to ask what the heck I was talking about. Sigh – you can't win 'em all internet.
So why am I rambling on about all this? Well I'll tell you. Yesterday I met with my two fabulous clients, Chantelle and Sacha for their engagement session in Bolton, Ontario. Five or Ten minutes into shooting, Sacha fed me a line from Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.
My.Heart.Stopped.
In that moment, Chantelle and Sacha became long lost friends of mine and I became even more grateful our fates have aligned and I have the privilege of capturing their wedding day in the months to come. She's a dancer, he's a boxer. These two relationship veterans have been together ten years already and clearly are the perfect pair. They make each other laugh. They flirt back and forth. They wrestle and hold hands. I adore their love and I adore their spirits.
Here's a peek at their shoot...
I am the sister of the Groom-to-Be. These pictures are simply stunning. Chantelle's beauty and Sacha's charisma have been captured so purely. Thank you for doing justice and capturing the essence of their love.
