FEEEEEEWF. How ya doin'? It's been 19 days since the last post and I feel terrible. I mean it, I've been sweating at the thought. However, I do have some pretty credible excuses, nay, reasons as to why the delay.
Ahem. Packing, moving, unpacking, organizing, cleaning, painting, gardening, more painting, more cleaning, more packing, unpacking, driving, shopping, shooting, baby-sitting, my birthday (May 2 incase it slipped your mind ;-) ), Mothers Day, more shopping, and probably more cleaning.
Sean and I have moved into a new home and to say there were a few unexpected set-backs and surprises along the way is quite an understatement. It's been a crazy 2.5 weeks, but our house is finally resembling that of a home and getting our routine settled is currently well in progress.
I have some fun sessions to blog in the near future but today I wanted to share a personal triumph in light of it being our one week anniversary in the new abode. YAY!
So I'm pretty much addicted to all things design. Interior design being a large portion of that. I'm convinced that Sarah Richardson & Tommy Smythe of HGTV are my long lost best friends and I can't possibly get my fill of Elle Decor, Style at Home, House Beautiful and Canadian House & Home. I guess I've always been a magazine girl to begin with, but lately my fashion mag's have taken a back seat. A few months ago amongst pristine pages , I spotted the gemmiest (made up word) of gem's in a coffee table made from reclaimed barn beams and proposed the idea to Sean that we recreate our own mini version putting a new spin on it. We purchased the solid beam from Legacy Antiques, a fabulous fun house of sustainable home decor, and began what turned into a 2 month saga of lessons learned.
Cut, sanded, stained, re-sanded and assembled... here is our home made reclaimed barn beam coffee table. He fits very nicely in our secondary living room, probably until he gives one of us a sliver.
Happy Wednesday all!
Looks AWESOME!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Sarah Richardson is my favourite. Our nursery is based on the one she did in season two of Sarah's House.
