ON THE WAY.

One of life's many treasures is undoubtably friendship. New friends are definitely exciting. Bonding, learning and growing closer to a new person rejuvenates routine and keeps things interesting. Old friends however, are our backbone. They are an extension to our families and often times know us better than we know ourselves.

I've known Alycia since the sixth grade, although we weren't always close. It took a couple years of falling in and out to realize we really were meant to be in each others lives.

An eventful cross-continent road trip, rooming together in a foreign country, cradling each other in our deepest sorrow, standing up for one another, laughing until milk comes out of our nose, and being apart of our simultaneous and parallel evolution into womanhood. Our unique memories are not unlike any pair of lifelong best friends. To those of you reading this, I know you have at least one person who has meant this much to you and is a permanent fixture in your life.

She is among many things – a woman, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, business professional, student, intellect and an actress. Within the next 4 months she prepares to become what I consider her most important self yet – a mother.

The tiny baby boy she carries in her belly has no idea what a wonderful mommy he's in for.

Alycia, I love you to the moon and back and I couldn't be more euphoric for what lies ahead in your story.

  1. Amanda...I am constantly amazed at how talented you are and at how well you express your thoughts and feelings on paper. I wish I could express how I feel about you as well as you do. You are kinder and smarter than anyone I know and I love you so so much. Our friendship has gotten us through the most difficult times in our lives, and you've been there with me through the happiest as well. I envy your strength, motivation and sense of self and am so happy that this little baby will have you as an auntie to look up to.

Thank you for taking these pictures. I hate the camera (ironically) but you made it so easy and enjoyable. Between all the catching up we were trying to do and my Dad pressuring us to hurry because the Canada hockey game was on lol, you still managed to capture memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I think of you as a blessing, and I whole heartedly mean that.

Love you to bits baby girl.

    See you in May.xoxo
