HEATHER LUCKHART.

Yesterday I had such an incredible time shooting a lovely local talent. I believe everyone on the planet has a story to tell if we only listen hard enough and Heather is no exception. A beautiful young girl with a cozy old soul who can croon like a sultry 1940's songbird. I adore her voice but have come to adore her even more.

Here are a few favourites from our session...

In a bag of tricks, Heather had brought along a bird mask from a masquerade party she attended last fall. She timidly dug it out and said, "I don't know if this is too weird for you, but I have this silly feather mask..." I laughed. My motto is basically "the weirder the better" and immediately demanded she put it on

Only a Canadian bred girl frolics outdoors in February with bare shoulders. CHAMP! I think our new company tag line should be Lotus Photography – Giving our clients hypothermia since 2007.

This next set is my FAVE-FAVE-FAVE of the day. Editing these, I was literally envious of how stunning Heather is. Complete Babe. I also should mention that Heather hired my choice Make-Up Artist, Lacey McGowan, for this shoot and yet again Lacey nailed it.

An interesting component of Heather's stage performance usually includes her topnotch kazoo playing. Heather was once one half of the musical duo known as The Hokum Runners. Tragically two years ago her partner and huge member of our musical community Glen Bensley, passed away suddenly much too young. Before his passing they had ordered a box of colourful kazoos with intentions of offering them to their fans during shows. With deep significance, Heather set her Hokum Runner Kazoos free for my camera and I feel honoured to have captured the moment for her... for Glen.

Somehow our outdoor session lead us indoors with thoughts of being completely random and my favourite... weird! Heather's only request as Sean and I planned her claw foot tub splash was that she remain innocent and not, "suggestive and trashy". I hope I didn't let you down Heather. You worked this shot like a pro!

With Heather's wild obsession towards all owl things, it's no surprise this little guy snuck into a few shots.

I swear I have the best clients in the wooooorld. Ones that like me enough to entertain my craziest of ideas. Heather was adorable to ham herself up like this, I love it.

Channeling her inner Lucille Ball for this last image...
