As hurricane weather was reaching the east coast, we in Ontario were experiencing some fierce levels of wind, rain, and chilly cold air fronts. None of which, it seemed, could damper Sarah and Jorge's celebrations held at The Briars.
Sarah readied in a quaint suite located near the east wing of the historical mansion turned resort. Surrounded by her best friends, sister and mother she delicately slipped into her stunning gown and jewels. She was ready, and she was the image of perfection. A limited number of dear friends and relatives, who had travelled from as far away as Bermuda, filled the tiny church and witnessed the spark of a new flame, in a new chapter, together as one.
After wind endured photos, toasts of champagne and cocktails were had as the bride and groom mingled amongst their guests indoors and out. An overwhelming calm energy (possibly due to the abundance of lavender) settled upon the day as the sun finally appeared and even produced a jaw dropping rainbow. Two lives had just been united as one and it felt as though the heavens had sealed the deal with a kiss.

Saint Georges church was made even darker than usual with the dramatic weather unfolding just outside of it's antique doors. With it being as small and intimate as it was, Sean and I were asked to remain at the back of the church during the entire ceremony by the minister so we tip toed passed each other with zoom lenses trying to get as many angles as we could.
Sean told me the following image of Sarah I captured is his favourite from the day. There is definitely a strong yet soft and feminine energy about it and I think it's a wonderful example of how classically beautiful Sarah is.
I have to take a moment and give a huge shout out to Julie of Unforeseen Events. She and Sarah met in advance to discuss ideas for decorating the reception, but even the bride herself was overjoyed when she arrived and viewed the final design. With croquet and games being held on the lawn, and punch being served to other guests while they chatted in good company and conversation, I couldn't help but feel like I was in another place and time. The soft pastel palette of lavender with ivory, the white washed walls and pine floors and the roaring BBQ feast took me back to living along the Carolina coast. I am over the moon when my couples give so much attention to detail. When brides hire an event designer/co-ordinator not only do they receive piece of mind knowing it's one huge check mark off their enormous "to-do" list, but the vibe and ambiance projected absolutely adds to the day as a whole. Julie's vision... was simply divine.
This crackling, roaring fire was like a big warm hug after a chilly day.
I was in love with the simple sweet gesture of lavender bound by ivory ribbon to the back of each dining chair.
Sarah and Jorge, we were so honored to have been with you on such an incredible day of your journey together. Many years of wedded bliss are up ahead.
