Sometimes I receive notes in my inbox from unrecognized names. A quick hello, a rant or rave and a vote of confidence. It's those emails, from a seemingly unfamiliar source, that quickly reminds my wandering brain and reassures my wavering heart that I am doing exactly what I'm meant to. My little, tiny, itty, bitty corner or cyberspace has reached a new reader - turned follower - turned friend. It's pretty amazing really. Think of all we as a social society would be missing if we had never advanced from the Zack Morris "mobile phone" days. (insert pause to hope you all caught my Saved By The Bell reference)
Katherin is a Lotus Blog reader - turned follower- turned friend. Seriously, the thought that any human other than my mom and Sean (who are clearly obligated) actually visit my blog regularly and at their own will, makes me want to blush. I feel incredibly honoured (not to mention pressured) that someone as fantastic as Katherin makes a point in her day to visit my blog just to read my ramblings and view images I've captured. And thennnnnn it gets better... she wants to hire me to shoot her First Annual Wedding Anniversary photo session with her incredible husband, Scott!
When I arrived to The Gladstone Hotel, Scott began to recount moments from their recent honeymoon in Cairo, Egypt. Those moments of course being when Katherin would find her way to a computer and browse my blog. Have I mentioned I love this woman!!??!!
A day with a couple this cool just flies by. Sean and I were able to really get a good understanding of who they are as friends and as lovers. Not to mention a brief discussion of similar design interests and one... Sarah Richardson. You all couldn't see it, but I just gave Katherin a wink.
I believe more people should follow Katherin and Scott's lead, myself and Sean included. Having annual photos (or anytime photos) to capture who you are in a raw and creative light is... well... priceless. Photos are forever. We'll never be here in this exact moment again. I for one want to make a solid effort to step out from behind the lens and allow my still memories to include more of me. I hope when I do, my story is as beautiful as Katherin and Scott's...
I love love LOVE the very first picture with their feet up on the headboard!!
